Is it worth it moving to Pescadero?
Me and my partner's question is, “what makes Pescadero so valuable?” If it’s a really small piece of land compared to other areas around it. What is so different from this land to another? That’s what me and my partner want to find out. Why is Pescadero so expensive for the people living in this small land made out of mass, gas, sinicoles, dinicoles and molecules?
We think that the reason that it’s important to know how much it’s value is, is because, if you the reader was trying to find a new home and you find one in a small town. But when it’s time to pay up, you realize just how much you would have to pay. Then you would want to know where exactly your money is going. If you’re anything like me then I would also want to know we’re all of my hard earned money. Especially, because it’s a lot of money, and you wouldn’t want to waste so much on something that you didn’t even end up liking. And if no one wants to buy your home, then you’ll have to live in that area until you have enough saved up to move out. That’s the exact question that we're trying to answer. What makes Pescadero (a small town) so expensive? And where is all your money going? To the government, or to your community to have a better and cleaner one?
What makes Pescadero a 4.035 miles so special?
Compared to other towns/small cities that are located on the coast. Pescadero is a small place, there's other places that have better views and better stores, better everything basically. Pescadero is surrounded by hills, and the rest is full of some “stores” that aren't even open, and Pescadero is really expensive. In other small towns/small cities you can find good places that might not be too expensive. There's also some good places, not places, not just food stores, there's also places where you can stay overnight. Or if they are visiting family or friends, they have somewhere to stay because most people in Pescadero don't have space in their house.
The way that me and my partner are going to collect this data is by doing a survey on all the new students that are latin. We are going to be asking them, “what brought your family to come live in Pescadero?”
We created a survey with the following questions:We sent the surveys to the high school students' emails. Out of the 90 students at Pescadero High School we received 24 responses. That is 26% of the student populace. The survey was optional and remained available for one week.
“How did Pescadero catch your family's attention?”
Most of the answers were about the beauty and that being mostly the main reason why they moved over. With there being 25% of people saying something about the beauty of Pescadero being the reason why they moved over. Then 12.5% of people say that they moved because of financial reasons. Another 12.5% of people said that they moved because of family.
“What do you feel is the most valuable aspect of living on the coastside?”
Way more people said they say things. 50% of the answers are again talking about beauty. They say that’s what they feel is the most important aspect of pescadero. 4% of people just like how much land they have around them, not really what's on the land, just that they have land around them. 4% of people came over here because of family. They don’t really mind the area and mostly came because of family, and they think that their family is the most important aspect of living here. Being close with the ones that care for you, and that you care for them. 41% non valuable information.
“What's a challenge/difficulty about living on the Coastside?”
Many people also went against the land and said that that’s something that makes it difficult to live sometimes. 29% of the people say that they don’t like the area around them. They say that they have nothing to do, and that it’s in the middle of nowhere. They talk about them not being able to go to many places. 29% of them said that they don’t like the weather, they say that the weather changes a lot. And sometimes that can be a bad thing, if you're at school and all of a sudden it gets windy, and you don’t have a sweater then you'll have to be cold for the rest of day. And many people don’t like when something like that happens. 4% of them wrote about how they don’t like the food that they sell around town. And how it can sometimes be difficult to get the food that you want, because they live kind of far from the supermarkets. 8% of the people think that the food that the shops make in town are way too overpriced. And that could be for the same reason that not many people buy from them. 4% of the people think that there aren't enough stores to go to. Could be related to not having many food opinions that they like. And in some other way could also relate to why so many things are “overpriced”. 8% of the answers said that there isn’t much work, making it more difficult to live in that area. With the food being overpriced, and then wasting tons of gas to get the food that you do want, so you spend hard earned money on food that you do like, and gas. Wasting more money than you should. 33% Non valuable information.
My partner and I learned that when it comes to living in a place like Pescadero, there are many ups and downs. With not many things to do, but also having it quiet. Not having many “good” food opinions, but also not living next to supermarkets that are always loud with trucks going in and out. In other words, everything kind of evens out with all the ups and downs.
It could be bad for some but better for others. If people stopped buying from the little food shops then they might be forced to shut down, that would be bad for them. But then that would force them to then change the way that they're doing things. And then listen to the people of the community about what they want, and what kind of food that they wish they could buy. It could either build the community or bring it down.
Vale la Pena Moverse a Pescadero?
La pregunta de mi socio y yo es: "¿Qué hace que Pescadero sea tan valioso?" Si es un pedazo de tierra realmente pequeño en comparación con otras áreas a su alrededor. ¿Qué es tan diferente de esta tierra a otra? Eso es lo que mi pareja y yo queremos averiguar. ¿Por qué Pescadero es tan caro para la gente que vive en esta pequeña tierra hecha de masa, gas, sinicoles, dinicoles y moléculas?
Creemos que la razón por la que es importante saber cuánto vale es porque, si usted, el lector, estaba tratando de encontrar un nuevo hogar y encuentra uno en un pueblo pequeño. Pero cuando llega el momento de pagar, te das cuenta de cuánto tendrías que pagar. Entonces querrás saber exactamente a dónde va tu dinero. Si eres como yo, entonces también me gustaría saber que todos somos mi dinero duramente ganado. Especialmente, porque es mucho dinero, y no querrás desperdiciar tanto en algo que ni siquiera te terminó gustando. Y si nadie quiere comprar su casa, tendrá que vivir en esa área hasta que haya ahorrado lo suficiente para mudarse. Esa es exactamente la pregunta que estamos tratando de responder. ¿Qué hace que Pescadero (un pueblo pequeño) sea tan caro? ¿Y adónde va todo tu dinero? ¿Al gobierno, oa tu comunidad para tener una mejor y más limpia?
¿Qué hace a Pescadero unas 4.035 millas tan especiales?
En comparación con otros pueblos/ciudades pequeñas que se encuentran en la costa. Pescadero es un lugar pequeño, hay otros lugares que tienen mejores vistas y mejores tiendas, mejor todo básicamente. Pescadero está rodeado de cerros, y el resto está lleno de algunas “tiendas” que ni siquiera están abiertas, y Pescadero es carísimo. En otros pueblos pequeños/ciudades pequeñas puedes encontrar buenos lugares que pueden no ser demasiado caros. También hay algunos buenos lugares, no lugares, no solo tiendas de alimentos, también hay lugares donde puedes pasar la noche. O si están visitando a familiares o amigos, tienen un lugar donde quedarse porque la mayoría de las personas en Pescadero no tienen espacio en su casa.
La forma en que mi socio y yo vamos a recopilar estos datos es haciendo una encuesta a todos los estudiantes nuevos que son latinos. Les estaremos preguntando, “¿qué trajo a su familia a venir a vivir a Pescadero?”
Creamos una encuesta con las siguientes preguntas:Enviamos las encuestas a los correos electrónicos de los estudiantes de secundaria. De los 90 estudiantes de Pescadero High School recibimos 24 respuestas. Eso es el 26% de la población estudiantil. La encuesta era opcional y permaneció disponible durante una semana.

De 24 participantes, el 50 % (12 adolescentes) son mexicoamericanos, el 33,3 % (8 adolescentes) son latinos/hispanos y el 16,7 % (8 adolescentes) son blancos/europeos americanos.

De 24 participantes, el 50 % (12 niñas) son mujeres, el 45,8 % (11 niños) son hombres y el 4,2 % (desconocido) eligió “prefiero no decirlo”.
“¿Cómo llamó Pescadero la atención de su familia?”
La mayoría de las respuestas fueron sobre la belleza y esa fue la razón principal por la que se mudaron. Con un 25% de personas diciendo algo sobre la belleza de Pescadero como la razón por la que se mudaron. Luego, el 12,5% de las personas dice que se mudó por motivos económicos. Otro 12,5% de las personas dijeron que se mudaron por motivos familiares.
“¿Cuál crees que es el aspecto más valioso de vivir en la costa?”
Mucha más gente dijo que dicen cosas. El 50% de las respuestas vuelven a hablar del belleza. Dicen que eso es lo que sienten que es el aspecto más importante de Pescadero. Al 4% de las personas les gusta la cantidad de tierra que tienen a su alrededor, no realmente lo que hay en la tierra, solo que tienen tierra a su alrededor. El 4% de la gente vino aquí por la familia. Realmente no les importa el área y en su mayoría vinieron por la familia, y piensan que su familia es el aspecto más importante de vivir aquí. Estar cerca de los que te cuidan y que tú te preocupes por ellos. 41% información no valiosa.
“¿Cuál es el desafío/dificultad de vivir en la costa?”
Mucha gente también fue en contra de la tierra y dijo que eso es algo que a veces hace difícil vivir. El 29% de las personas dicen que no les gusta el área que los rodea. Dicen que no tienen nada que hacer, y que está en medio de la nada. Hablan de que no pueden ir a muchos lugares. El 29% de ellos dijeron que no les gusta el clima, dicen que el clima cambia mucho. Y a veces eso puede ser algo malo, si estás en la escuela y de repente hace viento y no tienes un suéter, entonces tendrás que pasar frío por el resto del día. Y a muchas personas no les gusta cuando sucede algo así. El 4% de ellos escribió que no les gusta la comida que venden en la ciudad. Y cómo a veces puede ser difícil conseguir la comida que quieres, porque viven un poco lejos de los supermercados. El 8% de la gente piensa que la comida que hacen las tiendas en la ciudad es demasiado cara. Y eso podría ser por la misma razón por la que no mucha gente les compra. El 4% de las personas piensa que no hay suficientes tiendas a donde ir. Podría estar relacionado con no tener muchas opiniones sobre alimentos que les gusten. Y de alguna otra manera también podría relacionarse con por qué tantas cosas están "sobrevaloradas". El 8% de las respuestas dijo que no hay mucho trabajo, por lo que es más difícil vivir en esa zona. Con la comida demasiado cara y luego desperdiciando toneladas de gasolina para obtener la comida que desea, gasta el dinero que tanto le costó ganar en la comida que le gusta y en la gasolina. Gastar más dinero del que deberías. 33% Información no valiosa.
Mi pareja y yo aprendimos que cuando se trata de vivir en un lugar como Pescadero, hay muchos altibajos. Sin muchas cosas que hacer, pero también con tranquilidad. No tener muchas opiniones “buenas” sobre la comida, pero tampoco vivir al lado de los supermercados que siempre son ruidosos con los camiones que entran y salen. En otras palabras, todo se equilibra con todos los altibajos.
Puede ser malo para algunos pero mejor para otros. Si la gente dejara de comprar en las pequeñas tiendas de alimentos, entonces podrían verse obligados a cerrar, eso sería malo para ellos. Pero entonces eso los obligaría a cambiar la forma en que están haciendo las cosas. Y luego escuche a la gente de la comunidad sobre lo que quieren y qué tipo de comida les gustaría poder comprar. Podría construir la comunidad o derribarla.
